Midwest Chili

Ingredients

2 lbs. lean ground beef

1 T butter

2 medium onions, chopped

2 red or orange bell peppers, chopped

1/4 t pepper

1 T (heaping) chili powder

1 28 oz cans diced (or petite diced) tomatoes

2 10 oz cans tomato soup

6T taco seasoning

Directions

Brown ground beef in butter, stirring until crumbly; drain

Add onions, green peppers, salt, pepper, and chili powder; mix well

Cook for several minutes

Stir in tomatoes, soup, and beans

Simmer, covered, for 1 to 2 hours or until done to taste, stirring occasionally.

Notes

Original recipe calls for 2 15 oz cans dark red kidney beans

Original recipe calls for green bell peppers instead of red/orange
