Long Island Ice Tea

Ingredients

Pitcher (~8 cups)

1.25 cups water

1.25 cups sugar

2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice

6 ounces Tequila (e.g. Sauza Fresh Blue Agave Tequila Silver)

6 ounces orange liqueur (e.g. Cointreau)

6 ounces vodka (e.g. Kettle One)

6 ounces rum (e.g. Bacardi Superior)

6 ounces gin (e.g. Tanqueray)

Splash of coke

Medium (~6 cups)

1 cup sugar and water.  1.5 cups lemon juice.  4.75 ounces of each liquor

Small (~4 cups)

2/3 cup sugar and water.  1 cup lemon juice.  3.15 ounces of each liquor

Directions

Heat water and sugar on the stove at low heat to make simple syrup. Stir until dissolved.  Let cool.

Squeeze lemons and strain the juice.

Combine the liquor with the simple syrup and lemon juice.

Shake with ice, pour into glass, and add a splash of Coke.

Notes

The symple syrup can last ~2 weeks in the refrigerator.

One bag of lemons from Sam's Club is enough to make the pitcher sized amount with some left over.
