Day 5: Beijing to Zhengzhou
Yesterday was cold and rainy all day. Today we woke up to a wet and slushy snow in Beijing. We said goodbye to guides George and Michael and flew China Southern from Beijing to Zhengzhou. Zhengzhou is the capital of the Henan province and has about 8 million people.
Sawyer's orphanage is in Zhengzhou. I'll meet and take custody of Sawyer tomorrow. A day after that the adoption will be finalized.
Our new guides Yisha and Vivian are with us now. This is Vivian looking at the camera.
While traffic is less crazy than in Beijing, scooters pose a problem even on sidewalks. They are all electric so you don't hear them coming up behind you.
Walmart is within walking distance which is great since it was hard to pack everything needed in one suitcase (formula, diapers, wipes...). It is a little different than the US version (e.g. smells like fish when you walk in) and shopping for items in Chinese was tough.
